Minvo Upload Options: Clip Video to Shorts vs. Add Captions & Edit

Upload your video first. Once it lands, Minvo asks What would you like to do with this video? and offers two options. Which ones you can pick depends on how long the video is.

1. Clip Video to Shorts

Turn a podcast, a livestream or any long video into short clips for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts or Facebook. Minvo goes through the whole recording and picks the moments worth clipping.

1. Upload your video.
2. Choose Clip Video to Shorts.
3. On the Create Clips screen, set the processing timeframe (the stretch of the video to work on), choose how long the clips should be, and optionally tell the AI what to focus on.
4. Press Create Clips, then review the moments once processing finishes.

Available for videos longer than 3 minutes. Not available on the Essentials plan.

2. Add Captions & Edit

Keep the video whole and work on it as it is: captions, AI images, effects and framing. No clips are cut.

1. Upload your video.
2. Choose Add Captions & Edit.
3. Press Caption Video, then edit the captions and effects once it is ready.

Available for videos under 5 minutes.

When Minvo Picks For You

You are only asked when both options fit the video:

• Under 3 minutes — captions and editing only, as there is too little to clip.
• Between 3 and 5 minutes — you choose.
• 5 minutes and over — clips only.

Outside that middle band one option applies and Minvo selects it for you, so most uploads go straight through without the question.

Tips

• Full episodes, interviews and livestreams belong in Clip Video to Shorts.
• A short video you have already cut yourself belongs in Add Captions & Edit.
• If both are offered and you cannot decide, take Clip Video to Shorts: you can still caption and edit each clip it produces.
• Videos can run up to 4 hours. Your plan may cap a single upload lower than that.
