How Can I Download a Transcript in Minvo?

Minvo can give you the transcript of a whole video, or of a single clip. They live on two different screens, so start with the one you actually want.

The whole video, start to finish

1. Open your video.
2. Click the Transcript tab in the top bar, to the right of Clips, Mashups, Images and Write.
3. At the bottom left of the transcript, click Transcript.
4. Choose Text file (.txt) or SRT file (.srt).

The file is named after your video.

A single clip

1. Open the clip in the editor.
2. In the Transcript panel on the right, click the download icon at the top.
3. Choose Text file (.txt), SRT file - Lines (.srt) or SRT file - Words (.srt).

Timestamps here start from the beginning of the clip, not the beginning of the video.

Which format

• .txt is the words on their own, for notes, blog posts, summaries or anything you want to read.
• .srt carries the timings as well. This is the one you need if you are putting captions on the video somewhere else.

Good to know

• The Transcript tab stays greyed out until your video has finished processing.
• If you uploaded the video with Add Captions & Edit, there is no separate whole-video transcript to download. Edit the video and use the clip transcript panel instead.
